Malay Asian Cuisine in Shibuya

There is a special place in my heart for Malaysia. I visited the country 3 times since I moved to Japan in 2008 and I always think about the amazing food I ate there.
I decided to try to find Malaysian food in Tokyo and stumbled upon Malay Asian Cuisine. The restaurant is a short distance from Shibuya station.

Menya Kokoro Honten in Ookayama, Tokyo

Menya Kokoro 麺屋こころ was recommend to me by a Tokyo Institute of Technology professor while we were walking in the Ookayama area near the main campus. Since I will be spending a lot of time in this part of Tokyo for the foreseeable future, I would like to find as many good little places to eat. Menya Kokoro specialty is Taiwan Maze-Soba which is a form of soup-less ramen.

L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele in Ebisu, Tokyo

Do you remember Julia Roberts eating delicious pizza in the Eat Pray Love movie? In the movie, she is visiting Naples and she eats pizza from L’Antica Pizzaria da Michele until she can’t fit into her jeans. Surprisingly, you can eat the same pizza (minus Julia Roberts) near Ebisu station in Tokyo.

Abura Soba Kasuga-Tei in Akihabara

Abura soba can be translated to “oil noodles” and it’s a great meal for anybody not thinking too hard about their own arteries getting slowly clogged down. My co-worker strongly recommended Kasuga-Tei when I recently visited Tokyo. I had a meeting near Tokyo Station and the shop in Akihabara was the nearest one.
